Franklin

A Mass of Christian Burial for Juan Stewart, Sr. will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin, LA. Mask will be required.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 8:00 A.M. until the commencement of the mass at St. Jules Catholic Church.
Juan will be interred at St. Jules Catholic Church Cemetery in Franklin, Louisiana.
Juan Anthony Stewart Sr. was born on January 22, 1963 to the union of the late Maudrie Ann Maze Stewart and Andrew Stewart, Jr. in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was called home to glory on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 7:40 pm at his residence. Juan was a 1982 graduate of Franklin Senior High School. He started welding after graduating from high school. He worked as a helper and welder at McDermott, Gulfcraft, and Bollinger Shipyards during his career. He was a welding instructor at Bollinger Shipyard until 2011. He retired due to health issues. He was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church. He served as altar boy with Father White. As a young boy, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and brothers. He played baseball, basketball, and football for Franklin Senior High School. After high school, he continued to play baseball during the summer. He was a Little League Baseball coach. He loved to tell stories about the many fishing trips with his grandmother. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great nephews. He was definitely an entertainer. Juan was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Juan leaves to mourn his passing; his high school sweetheart and wife of 31 years, Stephanie Ann Robertson Stewart of Franklin, La, father: Andrew (Ollie) Stewart, Jr. mother-in-law: Jerry Mae Robertson of Four Corners, La, three brothers: Keith (Melissa) Stewart of Franklin, La, Vaughn (Renee) Stewart of Franklin, La, and Andrew (Samantha) Stewart of Oxford, Mississippi, two brother-in-laws: Greg (Penny) Robertson, Sr. of New Iberia, La and Raymond (Bernice) Robertson of Lubbock, Texas, two sisters: Angie (David) Inge of Covington, Georgia, and April (Jerald Hawkins Sr.) Stewart of Franklin, La, sister-in-law: Patricia (Raymond) Washington of Gretna, La, four sons: Juan Anthony Stewart Jr. of Lafayette, La, Jared Jamaal Stewart of Franklin, La, Jamar T. (Monique) Sam,Sr. of New Iberia, La, and Tremayne (Chauntley McFarlane) Johnson of Franklin, La, two daughters: Bria (Terrell Wilkerson) Stewart of Lafayette, La, and Mi'Asia Johnson of Franklin, La, seven grandchildren: Aniya, Kylon, Jamar Jr., Yahziah, Kalani, Kinslee, and Klover, aunts: Carrie (Clifton) Armelin of Baldwin, La, Debra (Robert) Rollins of Franklin, La, Myra (Allen Ray) Wiggins of Franklin, La, Harriet (Shervy) Maze of Franklin, La, Diane Maze of Franklin, La, Billie Maze of Franklin, La and Melba Maze of Franklin, La, uncles: John (Carol Ann) Maze of Carencro, La, Glen (Wilhemina) Maze, Sr. of Franklin, La, and Gerald Maze, Sr. of Franklin, La, host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and brothers from another mother.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maudrie Ann Maze Stewart
maternal grandparents: Garfield and Augustine Maze, paternal grandparents: Francis and Curley Wilkerson, two sisters-in-law: Wannette Robertson and Janice Robertson, uncles: Marvin Stewart, Allen Ray Maze, Shervy Maze, Harold Maze, Sr., aunt: Agnes Maze.
