Juanita August

A Celebration of Life for Juanita August, will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Kingdom of God Church of Jeanerette in Jeanerette,LA.

Visitation will be Saturday,  April 6, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Kingdom of God Church of Jeanerette in Jeanerette,LA.

Juanita will be interred at Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel, LA.

Juanita Faye August, was born on August 29,1970, to the late Olivier Phillips August and the late William August. She was blessed with three sons.

Juanita was a wonderful mother, sister, niece, and friend. She did her best to raise her children and to trust God and seek him first in all things. She volunteered for many years at SMILE head start where she loved spending time with "her babies." She had a positive impact on the lives of everyone she met and did her best to help anyone she could. Her favorite past time was watching plays by Tyler Perry. She had watched each one so much that she could recite the actors' lines and sing all the songs.

She accepted Christ at a young age and became a spiritual warrior. As a faithful member of the Kingdom of God Church, she served as an usher, sang in the church choir, and assisted with Food Pantry.

Juanita departed this life on the night of March 25, 2024. She leaves to cherish her loving memory three sons, Dewayne, Juan, and Caleb; two sisters, Mary (Clarence) and Alicia (Donald Ray); three brothers, Gerard, Sr. (Beverly), Brad (Dawn), and Brian; godmother, Victoria Phillips; dear aunt Jessie; a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends whose lives she touched so deeply.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; maternal grandparents, Lucinda and James (Jim) Colbert; paternal grandparents, Leola August and William Marks.
