Justin Couvillier, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. He was born on March 18, 1949, and lived a full life defined by love, laughter, and a few of his favorite simple pleasures.

Justin was known for riding his lawnmower any chance he got and for his unique hobby of collecting what others might call “junk,” but what he saw as treasures. He had a way of finding value and purpose in everything—and everyone—around him.

A proud Army veteran and former police officer, Justin dedicated part of his life to serving his country and protecting his community. Above all, he was an amazing dad and an even more cherished pawpaw. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in each and every one of them.

Justin is survived by his father, Ed Couvillier; brothers, Larry Couvillier (wife Ann), and Kevin Couvillier (companion Kristy); sister, Bonita Newsom (husband Danny); children, Shanon Wade, Sr.(wife Debbie), Alisa Lang (husband William), Bonnie George, Tammy Hebert (husband Kenneth), Julie Guiteria (husband Manuel); brother-in-law, Don Breaux.

He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren: Shanon Jr. (wife Macey), Ryan (wife Maria), Luke (wife Kensey), Emily (husband Coby), Ava Grace, Jessa, Kimberly (husband Adam), Brittany (husband Ryan), Samantha (husband Bruce), Melissa, Katheline (husband Miguel), Kenneth Hebert Jr.,Deanna, Kayla (husband Gilberto), Brandon, and Alayna Champion.

Justin was blessed with 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Maddy Couvillier; mother, Lena May Couvillier; sister, Gwen Blanchard; granddaughter, Adley Kate Lang; and great-grandson, Issac Guiteria.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at MK Dixon Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Baldwin, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Shanon Wade Jr., Ryan Wade, Luke Patterson, Carol Horton, Chad Daigle, and TJ Clements. Alternate pallbearer will be Miguel Guiteria.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the amazing care provided by the nurses on the 6th floor at Ochsner St. Mary Hospital and the compassionate staff of Hearts of Hospice, also his niece Jenny Champion and husband Jason for always helping when needed.

Justin will be remembered for his humor, his big heart, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on through his family, who will carry his memory with them always.
