Lawrence "Mookie" Lewis

Lawrence attended Park Avenue High School. He later moved to Houston, TX where he resided for approximately 36 years. Mechanics was his specialty. He enjoyed cooking and watching cowboy shows. In 2015 he returned to his beloved home state of Louisiana. He became a resident of Maison Teche Nursing Home where he remained until his demise.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Daphne Lewis of Franklin, LA and Alicia Louise Lewis Graves of Houston, TX; two sons, Christopher Lawrence Graves, Sr. and Nicholas Devon Graves Sr. (LaRoyia) of Houston, TX; five sisters, JoAnn Lewis, Shirley Conner, MaeNell Lewis, Evelyn Chillis (Ronald) of Four Corners, LA and Yvonne Ware of Baldwin,LA; three brothers Clarence (Shirley) Lewis Jr., Leon Lewis, and Michael (Roberta) Lewis, of Four Corners; one God- sister, Cynthia (Kerry) Joe; 18 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and companion, Cynthia Graves.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence, Sr. and Idella Lewis; his maternal grandparents Julia and Joseph Wilson; paternal grandparents Della and John Lewis; one son, Lawrence B, Smith, and one brother, Nelson Lewis.

Lawrence was affectionately known by his family and friends as "Mookie".
