Funeral Services for Lionel "Blue" Polidore will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, 1:00 PM at Israelite Divine Spiritual Church, 120 Rosa LN, Jeanerette, LA (Four Corners). Pastor Jules Anderson, II will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service at Israelite Divine Spiritual Church.

He will be buried in Sorrel Community Cemetery, Sorrel, LA.

Lionel was born on April 1, 1951, in Four Corners, LA to the late Mr. Edward and Viola Lewis Polidore. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. Lionel was baptized in 1975 by the late Bishop Julia Fields Lockette in New Orleans, La. "Blue," as he was affectionately known, attended Thomas Gibbs and Park Avenue High School. He worked at Morton Salt, M.A Patout and St. Mary Corp for many years.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving companion of many years, Melissa Jackson of Abbeville, LA; one son, Lionel (Keisha) Polidore, New Iberia, LA; two stepsons, James Hopkins, Baldwin, LA, Dejohn Alexander, Abbeville, LA; three daughters, Diania and Doris Polidore, Jeanerette, LA and Jessica (Moabi) Kotu, New Iberia LA; one stepdaughter, Paige Jackson, New Iberia, LA; two sisters, Ola Mae Butts, Jeanerette LA, Sherry Polidore, New Orleans LA; two aunts, Dorothy Mitchell and Idella Lewis, Four Corners LA; two sisters-in-law, Susan Polidore, Houston, TX, Joanne Polidore, Sioux City, IA; two Godchildren, Daberon (Perren) Key and Enjulicia Sillmon, Jeanerette LA; nine Grandchildren: Courtney, Kayla, Jasmine, Brianna, Shayla, A'zereylen, Kaelo, A'Rmani, and Kollen; three great grandchildren JaKaylen, Logan and Mason, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who realize that earth has no sorrow heaven can't heal.

Lionel was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, Della Jones Lewis and John Lewis, Oscar and Della Marks Polidore, four sisters, Theresa Armelin, Audrey Nixon, Debra Polidore, Selena Polidore; three brothers, Rufus Polidore, Edward Polidore Jr, James Maxi and one grandchild, Lesedi Kotu.
