A Celebration of Life for Lori Jackson will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin, Louisiana. Mask will be required.
Lori was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, Nanny, niece, godmother, and friend to anyone fortunate enough to know her. She graduated from Franklin Senior High School in the class of 1983. She went on to further her education at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas where she formed many lasting relationships until the day of her death. Anyone who knew Lori knew that she was truly a Lady Of Virtue and Excellence, and she loved deeply, especially her children and her grandchildren. The names Loreal, Lorean, Dalyn, Jase, Demi & Laiah were like music to her ears. Lori has always been an advocate for family connections. It was Lori who cared for our Mom until the time of her passing. She served her lovingly and diligently!
While we don't recall when Lori accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, it was very evident that a change had come. For many years she was a faithful member of the Triumph Baptist Church under the leadership of several pastors, the last being Reverend Clarence Stewart. In 2010 she moved to Baton Rouge, LA to assist her daughter as she pursued her Juris Doctorate degree. That year she united with Abounding Love Ministries where her pastor of two years was Pastor Albert W. White. Two years later her sister, Adraine White, was set into the pastorate and became her pastor until her death, and Lori couldn't be happier.
Lori transitioned from Triumph Baptist Church, where she had gotten her foundation as a believer and carried it right into her membership at Abounding Love Ministries. She served in the H.U.G.S. Ministry with Hospitality, as an Usher and as a Greeter. She was a vital part of our S.T.A.R.S. (Students That Are Reaching Success) Program and served in various volunteer positions throughout the ministry.
During the pandemic, unmoved by quarantine, Lori assumed a new role that continued until her last Sunday in service, she lovingly greeted our Facebook congregation, provided them with scripture references and thanked everyone who joined us each Sunday. As a result of her loving commitment, she was affectionately called Abounding Love Ministries' "Facebook pastor". She was amazing! Out of all of the areas that Lori served, it was obvious that her greatest joy came from serving as her sister's Pastoral Assistant where she literally served her until she was physically unable to do so. Again, that didn't stop her from serving as she found various other ways to serve and be a blessing to all who came in contact with her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Attorney Loreal Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA and Lorean (Dwayne) Rollins of Houston Texas; four grandchildren, Dalyn Smith, Jase Mitchell, Demi and Laiah Rollins; one brother, Anthony (Paulette) Jackson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Pastor Adraine (Apostle Albert) White of Baton Rouge, LA and Paula (Terry) Herrin of Orange, Texas; a Bonus mother, Jeanette Jackson of Houston, Texas; two sisters-in- love, Christine Chattman of Houston, Texas and Hilda Jackson of Franklin, LA; one step-brother, Ananise White, Franklin, LA; five Godchildren, Breyana and Arieyana Craig of Atlanta, Georgia, JoAndrew Sigur, Armond Conner and Xachir Turner; five aunts, Dorothy Archield, Clara Morgan and Hilda Simmons all of Houston, Texas, Mary Howard and Mary Spain both of Franklin, LA; five uncles, Nolan (Leola) Chattman, Larry (Diane) Nico and Alvin Nico, all of Franklin, LA, Abe and Abron Morgan both of Houston, Texas; and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. She was especially blessed with childhood friends who remained steadfast for over 40 years, Myrna Foulcard and Angela Robertson.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Edna Mae Jackson; four siblings, Michael Ray Chattman, Chyrel Ann, Leslie Charles and David Roy Jackson; and a nephew, Damien Robinson.
Proverbs 31:29 says, "Many daughters have done well", but we can all agree, Lori excelled them all.
