A Celebration of Life for Manidrell “Fresh” Smith will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson, LA. Pastor Patrick Jones will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson, LA.

Manidrell "Fresh" Smith, was the first of four children, born to Veronica L. Smith and Curtis J. Richardson, Sr. Manidrell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Ochsner St. Mary Hospital in Morgan City, LA, surrounded by his mother.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Fields at St. Luke Baptist church. He was a member of the youth choir, drill team, and youth Sunday school.

Manidrell, graduated from Patterson High School. He was a member of the Patterson High's football, basketball, track and field team.

"Fresh" was a friend to many. His passion for being a barber started at the age of 11 years old. He later turned his barber skills into a career, where he gained many clients because of his dedication for doing what he loved.

Manidrell will forever remain in the hearts of his parents; four brothers, Kelvin (Nadine) Smith, Sr., Kendrick (Shonda) Smith, Malcolm (Tasha) Smith, Sr., and Curtis Wesley, Jr.; one sister, Johnell Wesley; one godchild, Nasere Washington; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sarah A. Smith Augman, and Isreal Washington; paternal grandparents, Esther Richardson, and Charles Turner, Sr; two aunts, Audrey Pilote, and Virginia Smith; one cousin, Traylin Smith.
