Maurice Rhine

A Celebration of Life for Maurice Rhine will be held Saturday March 11, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.

Maurice will be interred at Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel, La.

Maurice Gérald Rhine a native of Sorrel, La was born on June 20, 1989, in New Orleans, La to Wanda Rhine (Nettles) and the late Kevin Gerald Trepagnier. Maurice accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the young age of six years old under the leadership of Bishop Ordie Perrro at Macedonia Church of God in Christ and later attended First Church of God in Christ in Jeanerette, La. As a young boy Maurice would love to attend church and aspire to play drums in church. This was one of his aspirations. Maurice often vocalized his passion and pursuit of one day attaining his CDL and becoming a truck driver. Maurice loved to laugh and dance, wherever he went he made sure to hug and make sure he said "I love you."

Maurice attended Thomas Gibbs Elementary, Baldwin Elementary and later attended West St. Mary High School.

Loved ones who will cherish the beautiful and precious memories of Maurice Gerald Rhine are his mother, Wanda (LaQuince) Nettles of Franklin, La, his father who reared him from birth to 18 years, Freddie Carson of Lafayette, La, his godparents whom he dearly loved Louis and Stanley Gabriel of Sorrel, La, godsisters, Heather Rhine of Houston, TX, Ashley (Damien) Loston of San Antonio, TX, Trina Gabriel of Houston, TX, Roslynn (Bobby) Ayro of Jeanerette, La, Lakia (James) Wells of New Iberia, La, and Latresha Colar of New Iberia, La, his godbrothers, Stanley (Chantel) Gabriel of New Iberia, La, Devon Jeanlewis of Jeanerette, La and Javion Allen of New Iberia, La.; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Maurice was preceded in death by his late father, Kevin Gerald Trepagnier; maternal grandparents, Wilbert and Mildred (Rhine) Jack; one uncle, Calvin Rhine Sr.; and a cousin, Crystal Brown.
