Melvin will be interred at Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City, LA.
On Monday, November 25, 2024, at 2:03 PM Melvin Jackson, affectionately known as "Black Jack" passed away peacefully surrounded by his lifetime companion. He was born to the late Era Mae Jackson and Sidney Mitchell. Melvin was born on July 3, 1954, in Morgan City, LA. He attended Sumpter Williams High School in Morgan City, LA. He was baptized at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Melvin was employed by Siracusaville Recreation Center under the leadership of his lifelong friend, Leroy Trimm.
