Melvin “Boo” Lancelin

On Thursday, June 15, 2022, following a brief illness, Melvin entered into his eternal rest. He was 46 years of age. At an early age Melvin moved to Galveston, TX where he graduted from Ball High School in 1994. When he moved home he attained his CDL License from Coca-Cola Company at the age of 21.

Melvin attended Believers Family Worship in New Iberia, LA along with his former wife, LaTarcha E. Lancelin. Together, Melvin and LaTarcha had three children ; Abrean Edwards, Armon Lancelin, and Amyria A. Lancelin who mourns his loss. He also leaves to cherish his memories with his siblings; Demetra (Corey) Hall of Metarie, LA, Sherika Yarber of Baldwin, LA, Damien (Delilah) Batiste, Tramaine Lancelin, and Prentis (Janice) Henry of New Iberia, LA; sister-in-law, Ashlea Alexander of Lafayette, LA; brother-in-law, Harold Edwards, Jr. of Jeanerette, LA; godmother, Eula Mae Rouchon; grandchildren, Payton Nicholas , A'Loni Edwards, India Edwards, Owen winters, A'Laya Edwards, Loly Edwards, A'siah Edwards, Zyaire Cotton, and Milanie Lancelin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Melvin was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Mae Yarber Lancelin and grandparents, Charlie and Lucy Mae Yarber.
