Noel Lee Henry Stewart

Noel Lee Henry Stewart, 72, a resident of Franklin, LA and a native of the St. Joseph community passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 5:22 PM at her residence.

A wake service will be held at Triumph Baptist Church, 1005 Iberia Street, Franklin, LA on Friday, May 25, 2018, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  On Saturday, May 26, 2018, visitation will be observed at St. Joseph Baptist Church, 877 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA at 9:00 AM until funeral services at 1:00 PM. Reverend Ronald C. Young will officiate and Reverend Carl F. Lewis, Sr. will be the eulogist. Burial will follow funeral services in the Perpetual Park Cemetery, 1202 Main Street, Franklin, LA.

Noel was employed by St. Mary Parish School Board and retired after 30 years of service. She was a Paraprofessional at Willow Street Elementary, Baldwin Elementary, and G.W. Hamilton Elementary Schools.  She loved children and continued her ministry of tutoring children in reading until her health begin to fail.

Memories of Noel will forever remain in the hearts of her devoted children including her two sons, Clarence (Adrian) Stewart, Jr. of New Orleans, LA and Dwayne (Patricia) Stewart of Franklin, LA; three daughters, Carla (Barry, Sr.) Davis and Sherelle (Minister Travis)Williams  of Franklin, LA, Jolanda (Christopher) Logan, of Lawrenceville, GA; two sisters, Shirley R. Henry and Minnie E. Henry of Franklin, LA; two brothers, Donald Burton Henry and Wilfred (Elizabeth) Henry of Franklin, LA; two sisters-in-law, Idella Stewart Lewis of Baldwin, LA, and Dorothy Widemon of Dallas, TX, two brothers-in-law, Claiborne (Evelyn) Steward of Hampton, VA, and Willie Lewis of Baldwin, LA; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Noel served in ministry for many years beside her husband the late Reverend Clarence Stewart, Sr. as First Lady of both Greater St. Stephen Baptist Church and Triumph Baptist Church.

Noel was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend Clarence Stewart, Sr.; her parents, William "Jim" Henry and Leola Wilson Henry; a son, William Arthur Stewart; one brother, Clarence Ivory Henry and, and one sister, Betty Jane Henry.
