Graveside Service with Full Military Honors for Percy Hatcherson, Sr. will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018, 11:00 AM at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary, LA. Bishop George Austin will give final commendations.

Percy Hatcherson, Sr. was born October 13, 1918 to the late Solomon and Mamie Howard Hatcherson.  He was a native of Franklin, LA.  He graduated in 1938 from St. Mary Parish Training High School.  From there, he enlisted in the United States Army and then went on to a 30 year career in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1963.

He met and married Margarte Bolden Hatcherson.  From that union, one special son was born, Percy Hatcherson Jr.  In 2004, he married Joyce J. Starks Hatcherson whom he remained married to until the Lord called him home.

Growing up, he was very active with the elderly.  He transported blind elderly residents to various appointments.  He loved fishing and farming.  He gave his life to Christ in 2008 and attended Ark of the Covenant Ministries under the leadership of George F. Austin III and Lady Stacy Austin.  Percy went on to meet the Lord peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 100.

Percy was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Mamie Hatcherson, four brothers, four sisters and his first wife Margarte B. Hatcherson.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Pastor Joyce J. Hatcherson, his only son, Percy Hatcherson Jr. (Cynthi) of Warrenville IL, and their children Christina Roberson (married to Ryan Roberson) both of North Aurora Illinois and Percy Hatcherson the third, of Chicago Illinois. stepson Leslie L. Wells, Jr. (Shavonda), two stepdaughters Maggie Butler (Manuel) and Harriet Jack (Kaylan) all of Lafayette, LA, three great granddaughters Kaylie Roberson, Alyssa Roberson, and Brooklyn Roberson, all of North Aurora Illinoisand a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
