A Celebration of Life for Peter Calvin Johnlouis, Sr.,will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, 1:00 PM at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, until the commencement of the celebration at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.
Peter Calvin will be interred at St. Marks Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA.
Peter Calvin Johnlouis, Sr. was born on March 8, 1946, to the late Irene Green Johnlouis and Harry J. Johnlouis in Jeanerette, LA. He was the second born of the family. He accepted Jesus Christ and Savior and was baptized at Our Lady Rosary Catholic Church then joined St. Marks Baptist Church. He graduated from Boley High School in Jeanerette, LA.
He worked at Bayside as a welder and machinist and retired then went back to work at Patout Brothers and retired again. Cal was a jack of all trades. Cal enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his favorite football team (Dallas Cowboys), making this huge garden, creating all kinds of things with his welding stick and making chairs the most important one was taking care of family.
He departed his life surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home.
Peter Calvin leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jenella Johnson of New Iberia, LA; four sons, Peter Calvin Johnlouis, Jr., Jarvish (Christie), Lee (Eulalia) Johnlouis of Jeanerette, LA, and Alfonzo Johnlouis of New Iberia, LA; five daughters, Earline (Howard) White, Ursula (David) Thomas, Elnora, Charlene, and Darlene of Jeanerette, LA; one sister, Irene "Pam" Johnlouis of New Iberia, LA; 15 grandchildren, Shawn (St' Tanna) Johnlouis, Sr., Marquise, Ty'Reionna, Aarvon, Mitchell, A'Hamad, Za'Myree, Zada, La Tresha, DaQuan, Kelby, Myia, Ja'Marcus, Micheal, Aaron, Sr.; nine great grandchildren, Shawn Jr., Madison, Josiah, Malik, Te Darius, Marloni, Yasmine, Marlin, Jaslynn; one bonus son, Felton Roberts of New Iberia, LA; five whom he raised as his own, Marquise Colbert, Harry Johnlouis, Rachael Johnlouis, Amoni and Tyrik Williams;12 brothers and sisters- in-law, Celestine Johnlewis, Christine (Abraham) Mitchell, Larry Sereal, Willie Sereal, Verna Sereal, Betty Drexler, Catherine Edwards, Chris Roberts, Patrick Roberts, Barbara Johnlouis, Harold Roberts, and Shirley Lee; four, godchildren, Christopher Johnlewis, Sr., Max Jeanlouis, Sr., Neil Patrick Jeanlouis, and Ron Westley; three aunts, Peggy Lewis, Sally Green Smith, and Audrey Jeanlouis; fishing partner, Charles Rideaux, Sr., whom he reared as his son; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geanetta Sereal Johnlouis; two children, Mac Arthur, and Sharell Lashae Johnlouis; siblings, Harry Johnlouis, Jr., Robert Johnlewis, Beatrice Casimere, Enola Johnlewis, and Charles Jeanlouis.
