Funeral Service for Ralph Ward, Jr. will be Saturday, May 25, 2019, 11:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. Ulysses Mitchell will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 8:00 AM until the time of service at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Mr. Ward will be interred in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ralph "RJ" Ward Jr. was born to on September 4, 1934 to Mr.and Mrs. Ralph Ward Sr., in Louisa, Louisiana. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 surrounded by his family. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Olive Baptist Church by the Late Reverend Wilmer Castle.
Ralph proudly served in Macedonia Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Ulysses Mitchell as a deacon, an usher and a member in the male and mass choirs. He loved spending time with his family; making memories with his grandchildren. He loved sports and cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. During free time he enjoyed deep frying turkey and planting okra in his garden. Everyone knows him as the "Cold Cup Man of Four Corners". He didn't mind shopping for a good sale. Most importantly, he loved serving the Lord.
Ralph was united in marriage to Emily Moore Ward on February 7, 1958. He will be sadly missed by his seven children, Linda Ward, of Baton Rouge, LA; Laura Ward of Franklin, LA; Rhonda Ward of Franklin, LA; Kelly Ward of Franklin, LA; Felicia Ward of Four Corners, LA; Ralph Ward III of Houston, Tx; and Brian Ward of Baton Rouge, LA. One brother; Wilbert Ward, one sister Juanita Watts, both of Houston, TX. One sister-in-law; Carolyn Ward, of Donaldsonville, LA.
In addition, he leaves to mourn eleven grandchildren; Brandon Ward, Breanna Moore, Brittany Moore, Miles Auguster, Wendell Auguster Jr., Justin Key, Sabrina Ward, Jarrion Micheal, Jaylen Ward, Brayden Willis, Mikaela Price, and Arden Ward, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Harriet Ward; three sisters, Agnes Ward, Ola Mae Bowie, Thelma Logerman: three brothers, Worthan Ward, Nathan Ward, and Wilson Ward; and one son, Troy Ward. "RJ" had a myriad of close friends who impacted his life and will not be forgotten.
