Retron Antonyo Richard was born on September 8, 1990, to the Russell Richard, Jr. and the late Reynell Lockett in Franklin, La. He was affectionately known to family and friends as Tronie. Retron was a beloved son, grandson, a special brother, fun-loving cousin and a high-spirited yet easy-going friend. Retron always enjoyed lending a helping hand whenever he could. He enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and running errands for his family and friends. His affectionate hugs and smile were contagious and would soothe any bad day. When he loved, he loved with his whole heart.
Retron accepted Christ at his Lord and Savior at a very young age. He was a member of Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin, La. He graduated from West St. Mary High School as a member of the class of 2010. Retron often called himself a mathematician. He would calculate large numbers in his head without even using a calculator. Retron genuinely loved his family and friends and was known to smile with anyone he encountered. It was obvious that he possessed a kind and gentle spirit.
It is known that our Lord God never makes mistakes, and in His infinite wisdom, deemed it timely on Thursday, November 16, 2023, to call his son to eternal rest. Retron's departure leaves a deep and personal loss to all who loved him and who were blessed to share precious moments in his life. Although he will be sorely missed, there is peace in knowing that we can confidently say: To be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord.
Retron was a beloved son, and a special brother. He was a guiding uncle, fun-loving cousin, and an easy- going friend. He will be sorrowfully missed by his two brothers, Renaud (Destiny) Richard of Lafayette, La and Raphael (Carion'tae) Richard of Houston, TX; grandparents, Joydell(Edmond) Robinson, Marva Richard, Vergie Druilhet Richard all of Baldwin, La, and Russell (Mattie) Richard, Sr. of Austin, TX; two nephews, one niece, a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
