Robert "Fruit Bowl" Bowser, Jr.

Celebration of Life Service for Robert Bowser, Jr., will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Baldwin, LA. Superintendent Donald Lanceslin will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service at Greater New Hope Baptist Church.

He will be interred in Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Baldwin, LA.

Robert Bowser, Jr. affectionately known, as "Fruit Bowl," or "Fruit" was born on August 9, 1939, in Baldwin, LA. He passed away on May 24, 2018, at the age of 78.

Preceding him in death were his son, Mark Clyde Dixon; his parents Alice Jones Colbert, Robert Bowser, Sr., his stepfather Mathew Colbert, Sr.; stepmother Audry Prejean Bowser; grandparents Willie and Louisa Mark Jones, Eddie and Martha Paul Bowser, and John Baptiste, Jr.; four sisters- Martha Louise Bowser, Audrey Mae Bowser, Zonia Faye Bowser Williams and Barbara "Bobbie" Alfred Samuels Penn; two step sisters- Oralita Montgomery and Mary "Bobbie" Montgomery; two brothers-Willie Edward Bowser and Timothy Bowser and three stepbrothers-Matthew Colbert, Jr., Leroy Colbert, and John Montgomery.

"Fruit's" legacy will live on in the hearts of his family which includeshis wife Dolly Dixon, one son, Michael Bowser (Kaye) of Baldwin, LA; three daughters: Cheryl Lynn Robinson (John) and Monica Wells (Gene) both of Franklin, LA, and Tracy Jack (Vernon) of Dallas, TX, grandchildren, Ramona (Craig), Lovell, Marquall (Kizzy), Jerrell, Javell, Tre'Vell, Solomon, Gentrell, Shantrell, Ajontai, Malaysia, Montre, and Taylor; sister, Lillie Mary Sterling (Oliver) and children of Houston, TX, Charles Ray Colbert (Phyllis) and child and the children of Barbara Penn all of San Antonio, TX, the children of Leroy Colbert, the children Matthew Colbert, Jr., Delores Jones and child of Houston, TX, Irma Montgomery of Houston, TX, Dwight Bowser, Sr. (Orelia) and children of Houston, TX, Rebecca Newman (Donald) and children, Joseph Bowser, Sr. (Lillian Marie) and children, James Bowser (Mary) and children, Cheryl Shilo (Ronald) and children all of Beaumont, TX, uncles Henry Jones (Lucille) and children of Baldwin, LA and Felton Jones, Sr. and children of Four Corners, LA, brother and sisters-in-law, Charlie Martin, Franklin, LA; Agnes Brown, Kansas City, KS; Mary (Henry) Martin, New Orleans, LA, Mary Jenkins and Sherry Ann Martin, Baldwin, LA,one Goddaughter Mary Martin of New Orleans, LA, adopted daughter Geraldine (Leroy) Hawkins, Four Corners, LA, adopted son Harry (Terri) Smith, Baldwin, LA, and a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
