Rodney Hart

A Celebration of Life for Rodney Hart, will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:30 AM until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Rodney James Hart transitioned from this earth at the age of 66 on the morning of January 14, 2025. He was birthed into this world to the parents of Daniel and Fannie Hart on August 29, 1958. At his birth, he was one of seven children.

Rodney had a highly creative nature. He was born with his parents' DNA, but we also credit the St Mary Parish School System for further developing his creative spirit. One of his special talents was writing poetry. Rodney, also, loved to cook and spend time on the fishing docks. While residing in Gulfport, Mississippi, he entered holy matrimony with his wife, Ann, who preceded him in death. Their marriage had been dissolved at the time of her demise. Occupations included working as a chef at Memorial Hospital, The Holiday Inn, Hilton and Broadwater Beach Hotels (Biloxi/Gulfport, MS), and oyster processing at Ameripure Processing Co in Franklin. Following the devastation in the south by hurricane Katrina, Rodney donated his services to Habitat for Humanity to help rebuild community homes, and in the process, helped build one for himself.

Rodney was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jesse Hart and Jeffrey Jones, Sr.; grandmothers, Cora Barabin Hart and Josephine Bowers Jones (Bowser); father and mother, Daniel and Fannie Hart; oldest brother, Daniel Hart, Jr.; former wife, Ann. Others preceding Rodney in death were his father's siblings; Florence, Lillian, Rosa, Daisy, Clarence, and David; mother's siblings, Nancy, Edith, Clara, Evelyn, Corine, Jeffrey Jr, and Joseph. May he rest in perfect peace, and those that have gone before him, continue to do so.

To those he leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings; Ella, Robert (Pat), Sandra, Alaine (Arthur), Herbert (Clara), Cora Darlene, Clayton, and Jerome (Deatra); cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends, may memories of Rodney build a special bridge of love and bring comfort and peace of mind, as we go forth.
