A Celebration of Life for Rosa Lee Johnson Wilson, will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin, LA.

Rosa Lee will be interred at St. John Cemetery on Pecot Street in Franklin, LA.

Rosa Lee was born on September 20, 1938, to the union of the late James and Almetra Mitchell Sr. The second oldest of the four children. She was baptized on November 6, 1938 by Minister Arthur Obee at Asbury Methodist Church in Franklin, LA. Rosa Lee received her education at Franklin Negro High School and graduated in 1958. She was a 1977 graduate of Delta Business College in New Iberia, LA.

She was a faithful member of Triumph Baptist Church of Franklin LA. Whereas, she served under various pastors and presently under Pastor Carl F. Lewis. There she served as president of the Mission Ministry and President of the Senior Choir. Rosa Lee deeply loved her family, friends, and yes, her pastor. She was a childcare provider for over 40 years at Discovery Child Care Center in Franklin, LA. She worked for the City of Franklin at the Broussard Harris Recreation Center serving in various capacities. She along with the late Louise Williams started a group of line dancers.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Wanda Daniels, Sheila Verret, Monica (Calvin) Sanders, all of Franklin, LA, two sons; Rayfield Johnson of Franklin, LA and Lorenzo (Charlotte) Johnson Sr. of Youngsville, LA, one sister, Brenda Phillips of Franklin LA, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, 3 grandsons-in law, 8  Godchildren, 6 bonus daughters, 11 bonus sons, one adopted nephew, a large host of close friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus grand and great children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martin Wilson, one sister Pearline Viltz, one brother James Mitchell Jr., three sons Kirkland Mitchell, Barry Johnson Sr., Gregory Johnson, one grandson Damien Daniels, one sister-in-law, Myrtle Mitchell, one son in law, Norman Verret, two brothers in law, Woodrow Viltz and Elvin Phillips Sr.
