Rose Charles

A Celebration of Life for Rose Charles, will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.

Rose will be interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA.

Rose Charles, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, LA, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on September 6, 1945, to Dorothy and Harding Paul. Rose was baptized at an early age at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member throughout her life.

Rose worked at Jeanerette Mills and retired upon its closing. She was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence Charles, Sr. Together, they raised four children; David (April) Charles, Sr. of Morrow, GA, Terri (Joseph) Totten of Prosperity, SC; Lawrence (Vanessa) Charles, Jr. of Four Corners,LA, and Tiffany (Brian) Carter of McDonough, GA; two sisters, Judy (Claston) Mallary and Melissa (Tony) Vital; 19 grandchildren, Terrance Lewis, Travis Colbert, Sha'Tara Stephens, Trevon Lewis, Sr., Devonte Charles, David Charles, Jr., Bolden Charles, Payton Carter, Savannah Charles, Seth Carter, ShaHara Charles, Samantha Carter, Caleb Carter, Noah Carter, Loghan Carter, Bronson Charles, Liam Carter, Luke Carter, and Dylan Carter; 17 great grandchildren, whom she adored; a host of nieces, nephews,extended family and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her siblings, Warren Paul, Barbara Ann Scott, and Timothy Paul; grandsons, Ethen Carter and Tyler Totten; nephew, Brandon Paul; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Paul; brother-in -law, Henry Scott, Sr.
