Rose Mary Jones

A Celebration of Life for Rose Mary Jones will be Friday, August 30, 2019, 11:00 AM at Triumph Baptist Church, Franklin, LA. Rev Carl Lewis will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2019, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at Triumph Baptist Church.

Ms. Jones will be interred in Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Baldwin, LA.

Rose Mary Jones,75 years old, and longtime resident of Franklin, Louisiana was born to the late Ernest Lee and Katherine Ejola Jasper Nedd on November 29,1943 and raised by the late Israel Nedd Sr. She departed this life at Franklin Foundation Hospital on August 22,2019.

Mrs. Jones was a long-time member of Triumph Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Carl Lewis until her untimely death. As a faithful choir member Mrs. Jones touched the hearts and souls of many with her beautiful voice. Her kind smile seemed to warm the depts of your heart.  She was a loving mother to 7 children and inspired by 2 of them to start an at-risk youth softball team to keep them out of trouble. As a leader, coach and mother she inspired children in a unique way. She was an exemplary example of a mother taking charge and doing whatever it took to ensure her children had every opportunity to succeed.  Mrs. Jones was a dedicated employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation for 20+ years.

She leaves to cherish her memories; 7 children: William Jones Jr. of San Diego, CA, Gary Jones of Franklin, LA , Glenn Jones of New Iberia, LA , Barbara (Andre) Broussard of Glenco, LA , Corey Jones & Ginger Jones both of Franklin ,LA,  Brad Jones of Sioux City, IA , and one stepson Kevin Smith of Jeanerette, La.; one former daughter-in-law Gladys (Rickey) Latigue of  New Iberia, La whom she loved as a daughter; 15 grandchildren: Anita Lancelin, Quincy Jones, Jasmine Jones, Andre Broussard Jr., Andreanna Broussard, Shallyn Vincent, Andreney Broussard, JaiLynn McDaniel, Andrelyn Broussard, Barbie Broussard, Jhori McDaniel, Graycen Jones also Ashley Lancelin, Miracle Latigue and CorNasha Frelot whom she loved as her grandchildren; one aunt Cecile Bowles of Franklin, LA; 14 great grandchildren; two Goddaughters Michelle ( Edward ) Henry of Franklin, LA and Debra Nedd-Green of Franklin, LA ; 4 brothers:Dawson Lee, Gregory (Crystal) Mitchell, Gary (Marsha), Rev. Walter (Ruby) August; 12 Sister: Gloria Chretien, Josephine Nedd, Rosa Guildry, Doris (John), Deloris (Robert), Mary (Raymond), Dorothy (Lester), Veronica, Penny, Martha( Raymond), Patricia and Barbara (Michael) and a host of relatives and friends that realize that earth has no sorrows that heaven can't heal.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband William Jones Sr., mother Katherine Ejola Jasper Nedd, fathers Ernest Lee Sr., and Israel Nedd Sr., daughter Angela Jones, grandson Vincent, 7 brothers Charles Nedd, Ivory Nedd, Israel Nedd, Joseph Lee, Ernest Lee Jr., Alvin Lee, Alfred Lee Sr. and her sisters Mercedes Nedd Bradley & Lizzie Como.
