A Celebration of Life for Ruby Mae Johnson-Gash will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021, 11:00 AM at Greater St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 305 6th Street, Franklin, LA with Rev.Deandre Johnson delivering the eulogy.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service at Greater St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.
Mother Gash will be interred in New Providence Cemetery, Centerville, LA.
Ruby Mae Johnson-Gash was born on May 31, 1939 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Albert and Annie Mae Fine Johnson of Franklin, La. Mother Shepard Ruby was a dedicated and devoted woman of God. She was baptized by the late Dr. Marshall Hebert of Baldwin Revival Center COGIC United. Mother Gash was also an attendee of Franklin Revival Center (Prophet Howard Gilmore),  Children of God in Christ (Bishop Gilbert Austin), and Central City Christian Fellowship (Pastor Darren Walker). Mother Gash was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kevin T. Jenkins  until her time of departure.
Mother Gash was a devoted lady to all who knew her. She never met a stranger and would always show concern and love for everyone. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late David Joe Gash. To this union six children were born.
She leaves to cherish her memory (five) daughters Gussie (Richard) Williams, Elizabeth Gash, Laura (Shawn) Austin, Sonya Evette Gash, and Shanta (Kirk) Pollard of Franklin, LA.  one uncle, Melvin Fine of Beaumont, Texas. Two brothers Allen Ray (Lisa) Johnson Sr. of Baton Rouge and Kennedy (Argyle) Johnson of Jeanerette, La. one sister-in-law Lorenza Johnson, 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, a devoted cousin, Mrs. Betty Craig of Franklin, La. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mother Gash was preceded in death by her husband David Joe Gash, her son Raymond Joe Gash, parents Albert and Annie Mae Fine Johnson, her sister Elaine Johnson Pickett, two brothers Larry Paul Johnson Sr. and Albert Johnson Sr.  and one sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Keal Johnson.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MK Dixon Funeral Home, 337-940-9253, 211 Main Street, Baldwin, LA 70514.
