Russell "Pistol P" Lee Connor was born on June 20, 1962, to the late Julian and Mary L. Connor.
Russell accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He attended Franklin Sr. High and perfected his trade skills through Job Corps. Russell received his GED and later continued his education through a Texas community college. He would later accept the call of duty and serve his country through the Louisiana National Guard. After Desert Storm Russell was honorably discharged and moved to Chicago. While in Chicago Russell was employed by the Chicago Tribune and formed lifelong friendships up until his departure. He later returned home and was employed by Dollar General and St. Mary Parish Public Works.
Russell exhibited an everlasting love for family and was there for everyone in some capacity. He loved bringing his family together and having a good time, especially through barbecues. Four things were guaranteed at his cookouts. Maze ft. Frankie Beverly would be playing, he would be dancing, you would have a good laugh, and the hot dogs would be burnt. His love for barbecue led him to mix his own sauces which no one dared to tell him it just wasn't good. Russell shared his love of barbecue with many of his nephews. As well as his love of sports especially the New Orleans Saints and Lebron James or as he would say "Lebanon James"
On October 22, 2020, at the age of 58, Russel surrendered and departed his earthly vessel peacefully ushered into God's presence in the 2 o'clock hour surrounded by family.
Russell was preceded in death by his loving parents, Julian and Mary Connor, one great-niece, and one great-great niece.
He leaves to cherish his memory his 5 sisters, Sherry Ann (Charlie) Martin of Franklin, Lorraine (Herbert) Yelling of Charenton, Roxanne Connor of Baldwin, Mary Ann Connor of Georgia, and Carol Connor Griffin of Baldwin; four brothers, Julian "Pop" Connor of Baldwin, August Connor of Baldwin, Auston (Marlene) Connor of Baldwin, Anthony (Chantel) Connor of Patterson; one aunt Rosette Walker; one uncle Frank Logerman; a god-child, Terrell Joseph; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whose lives he touched deeply.
