Funeral Service for Sandra Elaine Theriot Depass will be held Friday, September 13, 2019, 10:00 AM at Triune COGIC, Franklin, LA. Supt. Donald Lanceslin will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Friday, September 13, 2019, from 8:00 AM until the time of service at Triune COGIC,

She will be interred in Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, LA.

Sandra Elaine "Pip" Theriot DePass was born on May 12, 1952 to the late John and Elouise (Johnson) Theriot of Franklin, Louisiana.  She was baptized at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she worshipped for many years.  Sandra worshipped at other churches in which her final church home was Church of God in Christ.  She attended school in St. Mary Parish and graduated from Park Avenue High School in 1970. After high school, Sandra attended Grambling State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy.  She later married Ronnie O. Blake and to that union three children were born; LaKetra Love Blake, Ramon Orlando Blake (Buffy), and Rolanda Oriel Drake (Noah) whom she deeply loved.

Sandra enjoyed teaching children.  She was employed by St. Mary Parish School Board for many years until her retirement in 2017. Teaching was her love and passion. She was loved by all and never met a stranger.  She adored her siblings and enjoyed spending countless family gatherings with all.  She always kept in touch with longtime friends and introduced them to her family.  Her biggest joy were her grandsons whom she spent a lot of time with. Sandra loved her nieces and nephews dearly.  She treated all of them as if they were her own.  She loved to read the Bible and send daily inspirational quotes to all.

Sandra was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rose Taylor Wiggins and maternal grandfather Willie Johnson; paternal grandparents John Theriot, Sr. and Edna Hudson Theriot; and her beloved parents John and Elouise (Johnson) Theriot. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, LaKetra Love Blake; three brothers, Galeand Theriot, Sr., Tyrone Theriot, and Dennis Keith Theriot.  Her sister; Carolyn Louise Theriot Rose, and three brothers-in-law; Eddie Jones, Rogers Small, and Melvin Jackson.

Sandra is survived by her children Ramon O. Blake (Buffy) and Rolanda O. Blake Drake (Noah) and her loving grandsons whom she adored.  She also leaves to celebrate her life, one brother, Larry John Theriot (Bobby), and six sisters: Earline T. Armelin (Murphy), Alnetta T. Easton (James), Pamela T. Abraham (Marvin), Wanda T. Jones, JoAnn T. Small, and Andrea T. Jackson.  A loving aunt, Edmonia Theriot Phillips, a god father whom she adored, William Coit, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
