Shelton Boutte, Sr.

A Homegoing Celebration of Life for Shelton Boutte, Sr. 67, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at M.K. Dixon Funeral Home in Jeanerette, La with Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander, officiating.

Visitation hours will be observed at M.K. Dixon Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary (11200 Old Jeanerette Rd) in Jeanerette, La.

Shelton passed peacefully from this life the morning of May 11th after a gradual decline in health.  His loving family surrounded and supported him during the last days of his life.  Shelton was born in Jeanerette, LA was a resident of New Iberia, LA for over 40 years.  In 1978, he married Arlene Migues and the two had one son, Shelton Boutte, Jr. & one daughter, Laschel Boutte. Shelton's favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing which he enjoyed with his family and friends. He was the president for Shelton Spencerloop Neighborhood Association where he helped many in the community. Also, he was known for his famous stories and jokes.

Shelton leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Arlene Migues Boutte of New Iberia, LA; son, Shelton Boutte, Jr. (Kelsey); of Jeanerette, LA daughter, Laschel Boutte (Darren) of Youngsville, LA; five grandchildren: Faith Bella Boutte, Kelis Boutte, Havilland Boutte, Brianna Boutte, Shelton Boutte, III.

Shelton is survived by four brothers: Elton Boutte (Sherry) of Franklin, LA, James Boutte (Jacqueline) of New Iberia, Irvin Boutte of Lake Charles, and Milton Boutte (Cherry) of Loreauville, LA; two sisters: Betty Ann Wilson (Carrol) and Mary Bernard, both of New Iberia.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Joseph Chanette and Alzina Broussard Chanette; paternal grandparents: Ben Boutte and Amite Boutte; parents Albert Boutte and Hazel Chanette Boutte; brother: Albert Joseph Boutte and two sisters: Nola Mae Boutte and Lillian Kately.

Active Pallbearers will be Roland Boutte, Jamal Boutte, Javin Boutte, James Boutte Jr., Thomas Wesley, Jr., and Darren Marshall

Honorary Pallbearers will be Elton Boutte, Irvin Boutte, James Boutte, Sr., Milton Boutte, Shelton Boutte , Jr. and Shelton Boutte, III
