Sophia "Bull" Sutton

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:6-7

Funeral Service for Sophia Sutton will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019, 12:00 Noon at St. John Baptist Church, Four Corners, LA. Pastor Jules Anderson will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2019, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at St. John Baptist Church.

Ms. Sutton will be interred in Sorrel Community Cemetery.

Sophia "Bull" Mitchell Sutton, age 65, was born in Franklin, Louisiana, on May 2, 1954, to the late William Mitchell and the late Albertha Charles Mitchell. Sophia Sutton accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was baptized at St. John Baptist Church at Four Corners, Louisiana by the late Rev. Aaron Marks. Later, she joined the Israelite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ II, under the leadership of Pastor Jules Anderson III.

She attended school in St. Mary Parish. She graduated from Franklin Senior High in 1974. She was employed by Fruit of the Loom for many years. Later, she started her own business, "Sophia's Grocery", in Sorrell, Louisiana. In 1995, she was employed by Cypress Bayou Casino for 20 years.

She departed her life on Monday, December 9, 2019, at her residence in Four Corners, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Albertha Mitchell; two sisters, Mary Ann Jack and Josephine Hardine; two brothers, Rivers Mitchell and Joseph Charles.

Sophia leaves to cherish her precious memories with her daughter, Latricia Sutton Hurst; a granddaughter, Destiney Sutton, all of Four Corners, LA; she reared a nephew, Alan-Michael Harding; four sisters, Doretha Charles and Orillia Key of Four Corners, LA, Ora Keal of Sorrell, LA, and Clara (Roy) Darby of Beaumont, TX; one godchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
