Susan Boyd

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Ms. Susan Boyd. She was a truly loving and selfless person who touched the lives of many.

A Celebration of Life for Susan Boyd, will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.

Ms. Boyd was born on Tuesday, January 28, 1964. She was the fifth child of the late Mrs. Helen E. Boyd-Welch. She grew up in the St. Joseph Community and attended schooling in Franklin where she was a notable scholar and maintained a superior grade point average. After completing high school, Ms. Boyd attended Southern University, majoring in Psychology. From there, she moved to Seattle, Washington to begin her career path. She worked in forensics, as well as sales, housekeeping, and plus-sized modeling.

Ms. Boyd was known for her kind and generous personality. Her selflessness and caring nature made her a beloved member of her family, truly loved by her nieces and nephews, whom she helped to raise and blossom into successful, God-fearing individuals today. One of the things she was most passionate about was music. She had an insatiable love for all genres of music and could often be found humming a tune or dancing to a beat. Her music collection was extensive, and she would spend countless hours listening to her favorite songs. Additionally, Ms. Boyd was extremely smart, noting her love for various genres of books, record ability to remember historical dates, and even read the Bible from beginning to end several times. There was no doubt that she had a love for the Lord, and held membership at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and St. Stephens Baptist Church, both of Franklin, LA.

The family will always cherish their memories of Ms. Susan Boyd and the love she brought into their lives. She will always be remembered as the fun, "rich" Auntie, the genius sister, a walking encyclopedia, and her mother's best friend. It is extremely comforting to know they are reunited. Through it all, her legacy of kindness and compassion will never be forgotten and always felt.
