Tanya Reneice Navy, lovingly known as Tut, was born on December 8, 1966, in Franklin, La, to the late Rufus and Dora Navy Sr. She was the fifth of seven children born to this union and was educated in the St. Mary Parish School System. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Joseph Fields on Oxford Plantation.

Tanya "Tut" loved her family with all her heart and loved growing up in a large family. She was passionate about helping others and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. She loved cooking, cleaning, singing, and her Tiktok videos. Tanya was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Tanya was known to be the "Life of the party", especially when she had her "joy juice."

It is known that our Lord God never makes mistakes and in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, to call his precious daughter to eternal rest Tanya's departure leaves a deep and personal loss to all who loved her and who were blessed to share precious moments in her life. Although she will be sorely missed, there is peace in knowing that we can confidently say to be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord.

Tanya was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, a beloved sister, and a special friend. She was the guiding light to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by her two uniquely named children: devoted daughter, Errickkeyona Lashonda Ebiniya Sharee Minx (Jarvis) of Scott, La, devoted son, Erickeyshawn Mounton-Navy (Joshua) of Lafayette, La; three grandchildren, Ashylon Miller, A'Shyriyah Miller, and Madison Minix all of Scott, La; two sisters, Laurie A. Navy and Andrea M. Navy both of Lafayette, La, and Donald Ray Navy of Franklin, La; two dear aunts, Leona Brent and Marlene Payton, both of Baldwin La; one uncle, Clyde Brent (Flora) of Baldwin; Godfather, Ivory Kelly of Baldwin, La; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tanya was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Dora Navy Sr; maternal grandparents, Jessie and Jessie Mae Brent; paternal grandparents, Louis Navy and Viola Simmons, a devoted godmother Gustavia Kelly; two sisters, Pamela Jane Navy and Vanetria "Peaches" Navy; and one niece, Yolande Navy-Jenkins.
