A Celebration of Life for Thelma Louise Ward Logerman will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016, 11:00 AM, Macedonia Baptist Church, 145 Prevost Rd, Franklin, LA (Ashton). Pastor Ulysses Mitchell will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 12, 2016, 9:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service.
She will be buried in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Thelma Louise Ward Logerman was born to the Late Ralph Ward Sr. and Harriet Johnson Ward on October 14, 1938 in Louisa, LA.
Thelma accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the faith by Rev. Wilmer Castle, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She attended school in St. Mary Parish.
On August 25, 1960, she was united in marriage to Dudley Joseph Logerman, this union lasted 55 years, and God blessed then with two children.
Thelma loved all of her family and friends, she was fondly known as "Ms. Thelma, The Cold Cup Lady" for over 35 years. This was her way of keeping in touch with the kids of the community for three generations. Thelma was employed by Scelfo's Cleaners for 20 years before retiring. She loved cooking and homemaking, when her family visited from out of town they could always count on that famous pot of Okra, shrimp, chicken and sausage.
Thelma departed her earthly life on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 6:49 pm surrounded by her family.
Thelma leaves to cherish her memories, two children, Tyrone Joseph Logerman (Amanda) of St, Martinville, LA and Yvonne Marie Logerman Jackson (Michael) of Houston, TX, two grandsons, Treven Logerman of London, England and Chandler Orphe of St, Martinville, La ; one great granddaughter, Allison Orphe of St. Martinville, LA,; two special nephews Jacoby and Leonard Paul whom she raised as her grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Ward Jr. (Emily) of Jeanerette, LA and Wilbert Ward (Catherine) of Houston, TX; one sister, Juanita Watts of Houston, TX ; one sister in law, Carolyn Ward of Donaldsonville, LA ; two godsons, Ralph Ward III of Houston, TX and William Bisor, of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that she loved dearly.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Logerman, her parents, Ralph and Harriet Ward, two sisters, Agnes Ward and Ola Mae Bowie; three brothers, Worthan, Nathan Sr., and Wilson Ward and sister in law, Ora Mae Prince.
