Theophile Carter

Memorial services will be held Monday, January 27, 2020 at a 12:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Theophile "Rob-boy" Carter, age 85, who passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Monday until service time on Monday.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.

Mr. Carter was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette where he was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was employed with Larry Doiron Construction in Morgan City for forty-six years. Mr. Carter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Carter of Carencro; one daughter, Carrie Malbreaux and her husband, Johnny, of Lafayette; three stepsons, Robert Howard, Wilbert Howard and Wendal Howard all of Carencro; three stepdaughters, Shantay Augustine and her husband, Irvin, of Carencro, Deasha Lemott and her husband, Desmond, of Alexandria and Kizzy Dixon and her husband, Marquall, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Shawn Malbreaux and his wife, Alicia, of Lafayette and Bryan Malbreaux and his fiancée, Shannon, of Carencro; fourteen step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Essie Senegal and her husband, Warren, of Lafayette and Leila Chachere, of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee Walker Carter; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Veazay Carter both natives of Church Point; and five brothers, Veazay Carter, Leroy Carter, Jesse Carter, Percy Carter and Thomas Carter.
