Homegoing celebration for Wilbert James Patrick will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 101 Main Street, Baldwin, LA 70514. Pastor Egby will officiate the service.

Wilbert James Patrick was born on December 11, 1949 to the union of the late Mr. Edward and Gertrude Patrick, Sr. He journeyed to his enteral rest on December 9, 2014. Wilbert attended Baldwin Negro Schools and was a proud member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired in December of 2013 after working as a Long Shoreman at Omega Protein in Cameron, LA.
Pork Chop, as most of us knew him, was a kind humble man, who always greeted you with a smile and helping hand. Chop was a hardworking man who appreciated and enjoyed the simpler things in life. It didn't take much to please him and he never complained. He cherished spending time his wife, daughter, family, and friends, but most of all he enjoyed building and sustaining his relationship with God.
He leaves treasured memories with his loving wife, Barbara L. Patrick; one daughter Krystal R. Patrick (Justin) of Beaumont, TX., three special daughters Laronda Nyree; Tracy Velizana; Dedra Jeff; three stepdaughters, Myra Lofton; Tracy L. Hypolite (Peter); Terralen Lofton all of New Iberia, LA; four stepsons; Mark Lofton (Jennifer) of Beaumont, TX; Paul Jones Lofton; Allen Lofton; and Deshawn Lofton all of Baldwin, LA; one brother, June Patrick (Olivia Sue) of Jeanerette, LA; two sisters, Redoulia Patrick and Eliza Collins (Cornell) both of Baldwin, LA. Four grandchildren; and a host of step grand/great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Patrick Sr. and Gertrude Latulus Patrick; one brother, George Nathaniel Patrick; two sisters Cora Lee Patrick and Marguerite Patrick Jones.
