A Celebration of Life for Wilfred Colbert, Sr. will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton, Louisiana. Mask will be required.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Wilfred will be interred at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashton, Louisiana.
Bro. Wilfred Colbert, Sr. was born January 12, 1939 in Ashton, LA to the late Letha Colbert- Arceneaux and Berwick Moore, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Ashton. He was baptized at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church. As a teenager, he served as a junior deacon under the leadership of Rev. Walter Richard. He later became a senior deacon and served faithfully even during his illness under the leadership of Rev. Ulysses Mitchell, Jr.
A life lived as "Wilfred, Head" lived can't die; but lives on the hearts, memories,and ideals of those who knew him. He was well known for his melodious voice to all who knew and loved him. He will also be missed by his hunting buddies.
Bro. Colbert departed this life on July 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Berwick Moore, Jr. and Marlon Moore; former wives, Geraldine Jack Manuel and Rose Landry Colbert.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories; his wife, Catherine Colbert; three sons, Wilfred Colbert, Jr., Demarcus (Carolyn) Colbert, & Travis Colbert; two daughters, Holly Colbert and Doris L. Hatcherson; four stepchildren, Katrina (Jimmy) Carter, of Balch Springs, Texas, Felicia Peters, Damitra Harris, Henry Shaw, all of Forney, Texas, other nieces, nephews, and foster children he reared; three sisters, Akiba Moore, Carol Ann (Leon) Dennis, Sharon (Harvey) Brown; five brothers, Ernest (Patricia) Moore, Gene (Patricia) Moore, Leroy (Marie) Moore, Earl Myron Moore, Kevin (Maria) Moore, 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and Macedonia Baptist Church family.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to MK Dixon Funeral Home, 337-940-9253, 211 Main Street, Baldwin, LA 70514.
